Jared Leto has been winning multiple awards for playing the transgender character of Rayon in the film “Dallas Buyers Club.” The transgender community has then watched him throw them under the bus.

I am here to disagree with it. And yet I want you to read all above.
First of all Jared is an actor, I don’t want anyone to forget that. He does what he is supposed to. It was a performance, it was a process of acting and he is not a transgender, we know that. It seems that the author of the words wants Jared to behave like one even after he is done with the role of ‘the beautiful creature’ Rayon. And I personally do not think that it is a crime to joke about what he did. He truly made a great work, he’s done a lot: not only he learnt about transgender people and waxed his entire body, but he has lost A LOT of weight. Though it’s all about experience.
It seems to me that the person who says about ‘Jared Leto’s trans ignorance’ has not seen Dallas Buyers Club, anyway, I might be wrong. But if you have seen it you would know that It’s not 2014 when you are able to do with your body whatever you want and when you can look like a woman and still be a man. It is 1985, Rayon is an AIDs sufferer and she is trying to stay alive as long as possible, though it’s not. She doesn’t own a big amount of money, sometimes she doesn’t even have enough to go through the day.
I may not completely understand the meaning of the movie, but I must agree with one thing that Jared said - Rayon IS a beautiful creature, she’s an angel, who stayed by Ron’s side no matter what.
I cannot see any other actor as Rayon but Jared Leto. He did his job perfectly, and he deserves all the awards he won.
You’re absolutely welcome to disagree on this with me.
